Location and Mission

Black Forest Academy is located in the southwest corner of Germany near the borders of France and Switzerland. It is an international Christian school that provides a North American education to the children of missionary families and international business families. The school's mission is to provide a quality, international Christian education that will equip students to influence their world through biblical thought, character, and action.

In 2009 Black Forest Academy opened the first Christian Bilingual School in Germany called Christian School Kandern. The school is for students in grades 1-4 and is designed to help students learn in a bilingual and bicultural environment. It is here at CSK that I will be teaching in English to elementary students.

Students at BFA
The students at Black Forest Academy come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Students come from missionary families serving in 50 countries throughout Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Many of the high school students board at the school in dorms with other students, resident assistants, and dorm parents. Younger students come from families serving as missionaries in southern Germany or even as BFA staff members. Black Forest Academy has a total of about 345 students in grades 1-12.

A Unique Place
Black Forest Academy allows families to continue serving overseas while ensuring that their children are getting a quality education. In addition, the school's commitment to providing a Christian worldview in education helps to equip students to make a difference in the worldwide mission of Christ. I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful mission to serve and to share the love of Christ with these students and the world.
